Full-time An exciting opportunity to join our team.
RS Cockerill are a family business based at Dunnington, near York. Operating throughout the UK, and now handling in excess of 240,000t of potatoes a year. We are heavily committed to supplying the major crisp manufacturers with processing potatoes, helping to make some of the nation’s most recognisable snacks. In addition, we supply quality packed potatoes in partnership. with one of the leading UK retailers, foodservice and ready meal manufacturing industries. We are fully vertically integrated, operating a complete supply chain service from high grade seed production, right through to delivering packed products to our customers’ premises.
Due to business growth and internal promotion, we are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to work within our Fresh and Processing Procurement teams, liaising, negotiating with our grower base to supply potatoes where they’re needed.
Responsibilities:
- Support the respective Procurement Managers and the rest of the Team in delivering against our Supply Plans.
- Liaising with the Operations Team in securing sufficient supply into the Packhouse to meet customers daily orders.
- Work with the Processing Team in delivering our commitment to our customers to their exacting schedules.
- Assist in the delivery of the long term Supply Plan, including the use of contracts and buying stock for storage. • Strengthen existing and develop new grower relationships.
- Strive for continuous improvement in all areas to advance quality standards and procedures, ensuring consistency and safe working practices.
- Work with our supply base to ensure that they maximise their full potential in delivering to their contracted plan, making sure that we are on track to deliver to all our customers administrative and accreditation schemes.
- Support our grower base in delivering against our Regenerative and Sustainable Farming initiatives.
- To ensure that all company policies and procedures are implemented and continuously adhered to.
Key attributes:
- Imperative that applicants have a clear understanding of agriculture, with an understanding of the supply chain challenges from farm to final customer.
- Preferably with previous potato experience and certainly of liaising with farmers, and other stakeholders.
- A pro-active individual, with a positive and enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude and be very much a ‘team player’. Proficient with MS Office suite, with an eye for accuracy and attention to detail.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, being comfortable liaising with customers, suppliers and work colleagues.
- Possess a full driving license.
